Compact Fluorescent Lighting

Compact fluorescent or CFL bulbs are often considered a halfway measure between traditional high-energy incandescent lamps and the most modern energy-efficient LED lighting.

The light is generated by passing an electric current through a mixture of argon and mercury vapour inside a glass tube. This produces ultraviolet light which stimulates a fluorescent coating on the inside surface of the tube which, in turn, produces the visible light.

Costing more than traditional bulbs, CFL bulbs tend to last considerably longer as long as they are used correctly. They don't react well to being switched on and off constantly within short periods and the life expectancy is much improved in areas where the light is on constantly.

At Complete Eco we have a range of high-performance CFL lamps at incredibly competitive prices
